Our purpose with The Virtual Buzz is two-fold. First, we bring you our thoughts and opinions – analyzing the trends, reporting the news, uncovering best practices. But, perhaps more helpful, we curate the content that others create. What does it mean to “curate” content? It means we gather and organize all that’s written on virtual and hybrid technologies and events and store it here for your use.

As noted author and professor, Clay Shirky says of the Internet, “It’s not about content overload – it’s about filter failure.” Our goal is help filter the chatter for you.

Want our thoughts? Look to the top of the site.

Or, just pull everything you need by category to get it all.

Donna Sanford has a nationwide reputation for creating content and programs that move event businesses forward. She grew up in the industry and began her career in her father’s association management firm as a meeting planner. As the founder and former publisher of EXPO magazine, she has spent 21 years as the eyes and ears of the industry, reporting on and implementing the latest industry technologies. In 2009, she produced her first virtual event

Sanford is a huge proponent of the power of virtual events, but is also forthright in her discussions on the limitations of the current virtual technologies and her assertions about how the technologies need to evolve to find meaningful engagement strategies that will better serve the planner, the attendee and the sponsor.

Most recently, Sanford was tapped to serve as Program Consultant for the Virtual Edge Summit — building the 36 educational sessions and managing 88 subject matter experts. Sanford created the Summit’s first association track and worked with all the speakers to brainstorm their content and create robust presentations.
